The SteepandCheep Email: Letter to a Jilted Lover

Steep and Cheap is an online outdoor gear retailer with the model of “One killer gear deal, one item at a time until it’s gone.” Every day they send out their Daily Dose email blast that starts out with a funny story or anecdote that, more often than not, made me chuckle out loud even before i had my coffee.
One day I unsubscribed as I was backpacking for two months and didn’t want my email totally flooded (as much as I love the ‘Dose). This week I realized I really did miss the Daily Dose and the humorous anecdotes it provided me (as well as some killer gear deals) and in an attempt to get back on their list i contacted customer support… the fun way:

Hours later I received a totally awesome response; just what I was looking for…

Let me start by saying that AF, your post was much more from the heart. That is some serious emotion going on. I would have to say that it seems as if you have experience convincing your long lost loves to take you back. What should this teach us? It should teach us to learn to appreciate in the moment, to keep ourselves organized and to not let the valuable ones slip into our spam filters.

If I new “Brittney G’s” boss, I would say it’s about her time for a good promotion. Or, she sounds like the perfect woman. Accepting, understanding, humor and wit. If you don’t take her, I know very many others who may be interested in poking her on Facebook.

Tara! What a wonderful comment; some great learnings and you even kept up the metaphor, kudos. Brittney G does sound like quite the woman… or cleverly trained robot, either way I would totally poke her on facebook. Although it may get a little awkward soon, as I still haven’t received my daily dose email :/
