Rhett & Link Meet Bernie & Phyl

Rhett & Link, a predominant YouTube production duo, have taken to the streets and are roadtripping across the US producing commercials in the high-cheese & low-budget spirit that encapsulates the “local commercial” genre we all love in a series they’re calling I Love Local Commercials. What’s cool is that these guys are harnessing they’re online reach (built by the social nature of YouTube) and with the help of a sponsor are providing local businesses across the nation with free advertising and providing us with lots of entertainment.

Here’s the 4-1-1

To be honest I don’t think Rhett & Link are all that funny; however, all the commercials I have seen are creative, concise and pretty amusing.  A few of them have even made the AdAge Viral Video Chart  (powered by Visible Measures), the latest of which can be seen here at number 10.

Here’s my favorite:

*For you non-massholes Bernie & Phyl’s is a local furniture store that makes horrible and hilarious commercials. example
